Lady Jackrabbits lose 2; Jackrabbits gain split this week

Lady Jackrabbits drop 2 conference games
The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits fell to 3-4 in 4A-2 league play with 50-48 loss to Newport on Tuesday at the Gina Cox Center and a 40-34 loss to Central Arkansas Christian on Friday at the Diles Activities Center on Mustang Mountain. 
In the loss to Newport, Lonoke led 21-16 at halftime and 34-27 after three quarter.
The Lady Greyhounds outscored Lonoke 23-14 in the final eight minutes. 
Eboni Willis led Lonoke with 14 points. Jarrelyn McCall had 11. Kerasha Johnson and Amanda Sexton had 9 points each. Kimistri Ballance scored 3. Ashlyn Allen added a field goal. 
In the CAC game, Lonoke got off to a great start, leading 10-3 with 2:41 left in the first quarter. Ballance hit a 3-pointer then McCall scored 8 in a row to account for a 10-0 run.
CAC stormed back to take a 12-10 lead. Lonoke led 17-16 at halftime.
The Lady Jackrabbits led 21-18 following a layup by Johnson. Lonoke led 24-20 following a 3-point play by Willis with 39.6 seconds left in the third quarter.
Lonoke's last lead came at 29-27 with 5:45 left in the game. 
CAC pushed its lead to 37-29. Lonoke cut the deficit to 37-34 with 1:19 left but the Lady Jackrabbits did not score again. 
McCall led Lonoke with 15 points. Willis had 8. Sexton and Johnson had 4 points each. Ballance had 3. 
Christyn Williams led CAC with 19 points.

Jackrabbits split 2 conference games
The Lonoke Jackrabbits knocked off Newport 63-38 on Tuesday but fell to CAC 52-28  on Friday.
in the win over Newport, Lonoke led 20-8 after one quarter and 42-19 at halftime. 
Jawaun Bryant led Lonoke with 20 points. Brenton Bryant had 10. Kylan Branscomb and Nick Bates had 8 points each. Tyler Spencer and Haven Hunter scored 4 each. Isaac Moore had 2. TaMarrae Moore had 1.
In the loss to CAC, Lonoke led 5-0 after a layup by Jawaun Bryant and a 3-pointer by Toney.
CAC led 11-10 after one quarter.
Lonoke reclaimed the lead at 12-11 on two free throws by Byron Fair early in the second quarter. However, points became hard to come by for the Jackrabbits. 
The Mustangs went on a 12-0 run to lead 23-12 with 1:31 left in the first half. Jawaun Bryant ended the run by hitting 1 of 2 foul shots with 1:18 left.
CAC opened the second half with another 12-0 run to lead 34-13 with 3:33 left in the third quarter.
Jawuan Bryant led Lonoke with 9 points. Brenton Bryant had 8. Toney had 5. Fair scored 3. Bates scored 2. Yancy Cooney had a free throw.
Jaleel Johnson led CAC with 13 points.
