Jackrabbits play Bauxite, Robinson tough but fall; Lady Rabbits sweep

JACKRABBITS
The Lonoke Jackrabbits dropped a pair of conference games last week. Lonoke lost to Bauxite 54-46 then fell at Joe T. Robinson 52-46 on Friday.
In Friday’s game against the Senators, Lonoke was scoreless in the first quarter then trailed 22-11 at halftime. 
The Jackrabbits then scored 17 points in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 35-28 heading into the fourth quarter.
Lonoke outscored the Senators 18-17 in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough to overcome the scoreless first quarter. 
Tony Bryant led Lonoke with 16 points. Tyriqe Jackson added 13. DeAneglo Noid had 12. E’Shawn Brown and Braidon Bryant had two points each. 
“It was a very physical game,” Lonoke coach Dean Campell said. “It took us a quarter to get used to it. A 0-9 first quarter real y hurt.
“We guarded better and competed on the boards. We had too many turnovers that led to baskets for them.”
In the loss to Bauxite, Lonke trailed 15-10 and 29-21 at halftime. 
Noid led Lonoke with 17 points. Tony Bryant had 15. Tony Jackson added six. Scoring two each were Braidon Bryant, Isaiah Thomas, Brown, Jayden Johnson. 

LADY JACKRABBITS
The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits won two games last week, beating Bauxite then Joe T. Robinson.
In the 39-28 win over Bauxite, Lonoke led 11-8 after one quarter but the score was tied 18-18 at halftime. 
Lonoke put on the defensive clamps in the second half, limiting the Lady Miners to only five points in both the third and fourth quarters. 

Keiunna Walker led Lonoke with 26 points. Mia Brown had six. Kennedy White added rive. Hannah Moseley added two.

No. 6 Lady Bison win again, beat England

The Carlisle Lady Bison, ranked sixth in Class 2A by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, improved to 13-3 on the season with a 73-58 win over England on Friday night at Bison Arena. 
Early on, it looked like Carlisle would run away with the game in the first half as the Lady Bison used a 10-0 run to lead 15-4 with 1:13 left in the first quarter. 
England scored the first eight points of the second quarter to pull to within two at 17-15. England eventually took a 23-21 lead with 3:54 left in the first half.
Carlisle ended the second quarter on an 11-3 run to lead 32-26 at halftime. 
Carlisle opened the second half with a 7-0 run to lead 39-26. 
The Lady Bison led by 21 points at 52-31 with 37 seconds left in third quarter. 
DeShaye Ricks led Carlisle with 20 points. Kylie Warren had 17. Shelby Hancock had nine. Kiara Miller had seven. Blakely Ellis scored five. Morgan Brazeal had three. Taylor Cullum had two. Mattie Staggs had one.

Lions 81, Bison 51
The Carlisle Bison gave the England Lions fits for a quarter before the Lions pulled away for an 81-51 win .
Carlisle led much of the first quarter but trailed 25-21 after eight minutes. 
England outscored Carlisle 24-10 in the second quarter to take control of the game. 
Everett Williams led the Bison with 11 points. Caleb Jones had 10. Jamarious Harper added eight. Kamryn Taylor and Braiden Jenkins had six points each. Will Carter added five. Baylor Craig scored four. Gauge Shaw had one.

The Lonoke Jackrabbits and Lady Jackrabbits both lost to EStem in conference play Friday night at the Gina Cox Center.

Lady Mets 46, Lady Rabbits 39
The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits fell to 14-6 on the season with a 46-39 loss to EStem.
Lonoke got off to a good start, leading 14-9 after one quarter. Keiunna Walker scored five points. Hannah Moseley scored four. Mickenzie Williams scored three while Kennedy White added two free throws.
EStem outscored Lonoke 12-8 in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 22-21 at halftime. Walker scored five of Lonoke’s points while White added a three-pointer. 
The score was tied 31-31 at the end of the third quarter. Arius McClain, Walker and White each scored three points in the third quarter.
The Lady Mets outscored the Lady Jackrabbits 15-8 in the fourth quarter. McClain scored four points. Walker had three and Moseley added a free throws.
Walker led the Lady Rabbits with 16 points. White had eight. McClain scored seven. Moseley had five. Williams scored two.

Mets 64, Jackrabbits 33
The Lonoke Jackrabbits fell to 9-9 on the season with a 64-33 loss to EStem.
The Mets led 15-6 after one quarter and 29-14 at halftime. 
Tyriqe Jackson led Lonoke with nine points. Tony Bryant and DeAngelo Noid had six point each. Braiden Bryant and Jayden Johnson had four points each. Scoring two each were Tyler Washington and Chase Bryant.
