Goodbye Coach Steelman

On Friday, May 15, at 10 a.m. Lonoke High School and the Jackrabbit family, which I'm an adopted member of, lost one of its greatest heroes. Hal Steelman, lost his battle with diabetes after losing both his legs more than 10 years ago.

Hal was an inspiration to all those who knew him personally or knew of him. He was a coach at Lonoke for 19 years and was still coaching girls track at their conference meet just 8 days before he passed. He was an amazing man and his legacy will live on forever!

Today I step into a new world,
old memories to you I bid farewell.
Today I come out of my shell,
hidden pain and dismal thoughts farewell.
Today a fresh hope I have felt,
to you unfulfilled dreams farewell.
Today I am born new you can tell,
my past to you I bid farewell.

I am so heartbroken that you have left us so soon. People, cherish those that are in your life.

We loved you so much Coach Steelman. Mr. Harold, your family are in our prayers daily.

Love Monica Spencer-Jackson & Alfred Jackson

I know this is 10 years later but thank you for this. He was my uncle and this means so much.
