My Mom, 12/25/46-7/28/08

My mother, Rose Mary, lost her year-long battle with cancer on Monday. I've written a column that will run in the newspaper this week and after it runs, I'll post it on the blog.
Please pray for my family. It is going to be a rough time for us all.

Mom, I love you and will miss you. You are my tag-team partner at the Carlisle paper and always will be.

Mark

Dear Mark,

I was very saddened to hear that your mother had died. She was a kind and gracious lady and I will always remember spending press days together while waiting for our papers. Please accept my most sincere condolences. You and your family are in my prayers.

Mark,

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Though I never met her, she was (still is) your mother and this kinda of news hits home with anybody. I pray you and your family find the strength to carry each other through this difficult time. You have my deepest sympathy and if I saw you right now I'd give you a hug. Just know you're in my thoughts man.

Hang in there Mark.

Deborah,
Thank you so much for the kind words about mom. She really thought a lot about you too. There are times I really miss those days of pasting up the paper.

Marc,
Thank you too for the kind words. Mom knows how much shooting sports meant to me and I spoke about you and sportsshooter.com a lot. She always enjoyed hearing me talk about photography. In fact, she used my old D60 for a couple of years and enjoyed it.
For my 14th birtday, mom and dad gave me a Canon AE-1 Program, a 50 1.8 and an 80-200 4.0 sears lens, all of which I still have to this day!

thanks again

Mark

thanks for the nice words and the thoughts and prayers. this is definitely going to be a tough time for me personally and professionally since Mom and I worked so closely together for 13 years.
