DES ARC — The Carlisle Junior Bison took a big step towards winning their first conference title since 2010 when they beat the Des Arc Junior Eagles 20-12 last week.
The Junior Bison are now 3-1 overall and 3-0 in 2A-6 conference play.
Des Arc led 6-0 after the first quarter. Carlisle tied the score at 6-0 with 7:25 left in the first quarter on a 33-yard run by Kamryn Taylor. The two-point conversion was no good.
Des Arc reclaimed the lead at 12-6 in the second quarter. The Junior Bison took a 14-12 lead with 58 seconds left in the first half. Taylor scored on a 2-yard run and Davarious Allen scored the two-point conversion.
Carlisle added to its lead with 22 seconds left in the first half on a 10-yard run by JaSean Harper.
Taylor led the Junior Bison with 79 yards rushing on 10 carries. Harper had 64 yards on five carries. Kaden Bray and 36 yards on five carries. Braiden Jenkins completed his only pass attempt for 18 yards.
The Junior Bison will host Marvell on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Fred C. Hardke Field.
