Lonoke teams fall in finals of Goldfish Classic

The Lonoke Jackrabbits and Lady Jackrabbits both came up short in the finals of the Goldfish Classic on Tuesday at the Gina Cox Center.

The Lonoke Jackrabbits, playing one of their best games of the season, kept it close with a talented Watson Chapel squad but fell 69-55.
Lonoke trailed 32-22 at halftime and 49-33 after three quarters. The Jackrabbits made a run and cut it to 8 early in the fourth quarter but could not get over the hump. 
Brenton Bryant led Lonoke with 17 points. Jawaun Bryant had 11. Nick Bates scored 7. Haven Hunter hit 2 three-pointers for 6 points. Justin Meadows and Tyler Spencer had 3 points each. Bryson Jackson added 2.
Lonoke advanced to the title game with a 48-43 win over Stuttgart on Monday.
The score was tied 31-31 after three quarters. Lonoke outscored Stuttgart 17-12 in the final 8 minutes.
The Jackrabbits made 8 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter.
Jawaun Bryant led Lonoke with 19 points. Bates scored 13. Isaac Toney had 8. Kylan Branscomb had 4. Hunter and Brenton Bryant had 1 point each.

The Lonoke Lady Jackrabbits led 40-35 in the fourth quarter but England outscored the home team 24-17 in the fourth quarter to win the Goldfish Classic 55-48.
England attempted nine free throws in the fourth quarter to only three for the Lady Jackrabbits. Lonoke was called for 12 fouls in the second half to only three for England. 
Jarrelyn McCall led Lonoke with 16 points. Kerasha Johnson had 10. Amanda Sexton added 9. Eboni Willis scored 6. Kimistri Ballance had 5. Ashlyn Allen added a free throw. 
Lonoke advanced to the title game with a 48-21 rout of Stuttgart. 
Lonoke led 14-1 after one quarter and 24-6 at halftime. 

Willis led Lonoke with 17 points. Sexton had 10. Riely Rowton scored 5. McCall and Johnson had 4 points each. Ballance and Allen had 3 points each. Callie Whitfield added 2.
