Bison sweep Jaguars

CARLISLE — It was a clean sweep for the Carlisle Bison basketball teams against McCrory on Tuesday night at Bison Arena.
Carlisle won all four games, including both junior high and senior high teams.

Lady Bison get tested, remain perfect in 2A-6
The Carlisle Lady Bison are still undefeated in 2A-6 play but it didn't come without a struggle.
The Lady Bison (11-5 overall, 9-0 2A-6) overcame a sluggish start to the second half to beat McCrory 63-55.
Carlisle led 35-26 early in the third quarter when the Lady Jaguars went on a 17-1 run to lead 43-37 with 1:07 left in the third quarter.
The Lady Bison ended the third quarter on an 8-0 run, including a 3-pointer by both Kayla Golleher and Kylie Warren, who also had a 2-pointer during the run.
Carlisle led 47-43 following a basket by Molli Weems early in the fourth quarter. McCrory cut the it 47-45 and 49-47 before the Lady Bison scored 6 in a row to lead 55-47 with 3:27 left.
Carlisle's largest lead of the fourth quarter was 9 points at 61-52 with 1:29 left.
Warren led Carlisle with a career-high 39 points. Golleher had 8. Weems and Peyton Hitchings had 6 points each. Elex McClain had 4.
Delviny Anthony led McCrory with 19 points. Caroline Lane had 13.
The Lady Bison were coming off a 58-48 win at Marvell on Friday.
Warren led Carlisle with 34 points. McClain had 13. Nikita Harper had 6. Weems and Hitchings scored 2 each. Golleher added a free throw.

Bison beat former coach's new team
The Carlisle Bison got their third win over the season in beating McCrory 59-49. The Jaguars are coached by Jeremiah Quattlebaum, who coached the Bison a year ago.
Carlisle led 13-11 after one quarter and 30-21 at halftime.
The Bison took control in the third quarter. The lead reached 16 points at 43-27 following a basket by Devon Kendrick and a free throw by Brynden Weems. Carlisle led 44-29 heading into the fourth quarter.
McCrory hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to make it close but the Bison made enough plays at the end to get the win.
Kendrick led the Bison with 21 points. Nick Schafer had 13. Weems scored 10. Cole Sheets had 7. Dominic Castleberry had 5. Zach Caviness had 4.
Jamone McCoy led McCrory with 14 points. Austin Browning had 13.
