Junior Jackrabbits get first win

LONOKE — The Lonoke Junior Jackrabbits broke a two-game slide to start the season by beating Riverview 28-12 on Thursday at James B. Abraham Stadium.
With the win, Lonoke opens 4A-2 conference play at 1-0. 
Lonoke opened the scoring on the first possession of the game when Dalton Smith scored on a 16-yard run. Braidon Bryant scored the two-point conversion to make the score 8-0. 
Riverview cut the deficit to 8-6 on a 12-yard run early in the second quarter. Lonoke pushed the lead back to 14-6 late in the half on a 34-yard pass from Bryant to Devonta Adams. 
Riverivew pulled to within two at 14-12 on the first possession of the second half. The Junior Raiders scored on a 3-yard run. 
Lonoke got that touchdown back on the next play from scrimmage as Bryant scored on a 54-yard run. The two-point conversion was no good, leaving the score 20-12.
Lonoke's final touchdown came on a 14-yard pass from Bryant to Adams. Bryant added the two-point conversion to set the final score at 28-12.
Bryant completed 4 of 5 passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 102 yards on 10 carries.
Smith had 52 yards rushing on five carries. Adams had 37 yards rushing on seven carries. 
The Junior Jackrabbits host Heber Springs for homecoming this Thursday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
